After some time, your computer begins to slow down or even start crashing. There are many reasons as to why it happens. Reasons vary: it can be caused by lack of disk space or RAM, corrupt Windows registry, virus and spyware attack, clogged system or your computer is just dirty. So you might ask, How do I speed up my pc?

To answer this question, you need not head to your phone and call tech support for improving the performance of your pc is an easy task any novice can do.

1. Disk Clean Up. It doesn’t matter how large your storage capacity is; when you use your computer, save or download files, and go online, you are using storage space and maxing it out before you know it. Shortage in disk capacity and slowing down in pc performance is caused by internet files that are saved as temporary files, music (or movies) and file downloads, and the installed programs among other things. Clean up temporary internet files by following this process: Click start (windows), type %temp% in the Start Search box. Press enter. CTRL+A to select all, then press delete. Click Yes.

Remember that recycle bin holds manually deleted files, so you have to remove it to free some disk space.

2. Delete unwanted programs. Over time, you compile tons of installed programs to your computer. Many of these programs are rarely used and no longer have its importance to you. {Left unchecked, these files slow your pc down}. Delete these programs by going to control panel and clicking Add/Remove programs. Identify which programs are not used, then delete them.

3. {Turn off unused Windows services}. There are programs that automatically turn on upon start up. Most of them are important to run your computer properly, but some should not be active all the time. {To disable some programs that you don’t need, go to Windows Defender in your Control panel; click the tools button, then click Software Explorer; in the Category Box, click Start Up Programs; then select programs you wish to disable}. {Here are some programs that you don’t need to be running all the time: FTP publishing, HTTP SSL, ClipBook, AdobeLM Service, Alerter, Cryptographic Services, Automatic Updates, Security Center, Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS), NVIDIA Display Driver Service, and Network Provisioning Service among other things}.

4. Run just one Virus program. Many computer users think that running multiple anti-virus programs all at the same time give them better protection. The fact is, 1 anti-virus software works as much as 100 virus softwares and the only effect these multiple software has in your computer is they take up a lot of memory that slows your computer down. What you should do is to remove all your anti-virus programs and keep 1.

How do I speed up my pc? These basic processes should be able to answer this pressing question.
